Fourth - Fifth Form / GCSE

Pupils in the Fourth and Fifth Form study the following core subjects:

English: both Language and Literature

Mathematics: The top set take GCSE a year early and study for two AS modules in the 5th Form.  The other sets are entered for Higher Tier GCSE and a second GCSE, ‘Additional Mathematics GCSE’

Science: Pupils study all three Sciences.  Pupils can opt for three separate GCSEs or take the Dual Award Course.

Religious Studies: Short-course GCSE.

Modern Language: Most pupils study either French or Spanish in the core.  Pupils who wish to study two modern languages may choose French in the Core and Spanish as one of their options.  GCSE Japanese is available outside of lesson time.

Learning Support: Some pupils who wish to have extra support with their GCSEs do not study French or Spanish and receive extra support for their other subjects.
